RN-Severnaya Neft Starts Oil Production at Labaganskoye Field

03 August 2015

RN-Severnaya Neft, a Rosneft subsidiary, began commercial oil production at the Labaganskoye field. 3D CDP (Common Depth Point) seismic prospecting was performed in the area, appraisal wells were drilled. An extensive work was also completed to prepare for development drilling – the properties of oil and reservoir rocks that generated commercial inflows of oil were studied. At the moment, one appraisal well and two development wells are put on stream.

As part of field’s infrastructure development program a 106 km pipeline from Labaganskaya oil treatment unit (OTU) to Nyadeyuskaya booster pump station (BPS) was built, as well as a first separation stage unit, a furnace platform, a temporary pump station, a fuel storage tank farm and a power park. Once commissioned, those facilities will provide uninterruptible delivery of the products to RN-Severnaya Neft's treatment plants. Besides, four well pads, an OTU site and a field support base were built. A total of more than one million cubic meters of ground was moved in the course of preparatory work.

The Labaganskoye field is part of the Sorokin bar. Eleven formations of the field are considered to be oil-bearing. Plateau production at more than 1.4 million tons is expected to be reached in 2019.

RN-Severnaya Neft's strategic goals are to bring new reserves into development and build up the resource base. Greenfield development will help create new jobs benefiting the social and economic situation in the region. More than 60 new jobs will be created to support facilities of the new Labaganskoye field in 2015.
