RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft Oil Company’s largest oil and gas production asset, has received a commendation from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug—Yugra Environmental Control and Supervision Service for its “caring attitude towards the preservation of the region’s natural potential”.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz released more than 105 million fish fry, including 3.3 million Siberian sturgeon, which is listed in the Russian Red Book, into the rivers of the Ob-Irtysh basin in 2021. Over the past three years, the enterprise has managed to add more than 170 million fish to the region’s reservoirs.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz is improving its approach to environmental management and increasing the scale of its environmental activities. The number of Siberian cedars has increased by 4.6 million since the forest restoration programmes were launched.

The enterprise is increasing the pace of land remediation of historical heritage, with more than 200 hectares remediated in 2021. During the three years of the programme, around 2,000 areas over 700 hectares have been restored to pristine condition.
