Bashneft, a part of Rosneft, invested over 6.6 billion rubles in environmental projects in 2022. The funds will be used for reducing air pollution, safe disposal of industrial waste, land remediation, reforestation and replenishment of fishery resources.

Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The company aims to minimize its environmental impact and achieve a leading position in the field of environmentally friendly production.

In the city of Ufa, where the company's oil refining and petrochemical complex is concentrated, the impact on atmospheric air was reduced by 6%. In the main production region - the Republic of Bashkortostan - the useful utilization of associated petroleum gas is 96.15%, while the statutory standard is 95%.

Bashneft continues to work actively to reduce the accumulation of oily waste, which includes using its own resources at specialized sites. The most environmentally friendly technologies, which passed state environmental expertise, are used for this purpose. In the oil production block the level of accumulated oil sludge decreased by 54%.

Another important area of Bashneft's environmental activities is the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity and the replenishment of natural resources. In 2022, Bashneft released over 587,000 fry of valuable fish species into water bodies in the republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District. The Company planted over 700,000 seedlings of conifers in the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug on an area of over 177 hectares. Bashneft employees and their families planted about 34 thousand tree saplings on an area of more than 8 hectares during the International Action "Garden of Memory" and the Republican Ecological Action "Green Bashkiria".
